I entered my first yoga class in Austin while attending the University of Texas. I initially began my practice to reduce stress and stay in shape, but ended up finding so much more. Yoga helped me find balance in my life, opened my eyes to my own individual form of spirituality and brought awareness to mind, body and breath in a way I had never previously experienced. A few years later I moved to Denver and was encouraged by a good friend to take a teacher training certification. I enrolled to gain a deeper understanding of the body and my practice, and left the training with an enormous desire to share the gift of yoga with others. In my classes, I hope to help people find humility and a light-hearted approach to their practice. The sense of community that I felt when I began practicing remains a huge part of what yoga is to me, and I want to create an open, fun, safe and relaxed atmosphere. I am continually blown away by the way energy flows through a yoga room and how much we each learn and gain from one another. I am so excited to be a part of the Black Swan Yoga community as both a student and a teacher.
