Unji

My Mom is a yogi. Somehow I found a way to ignore this growing up. When I was 22 my mother and I took a trip to India together. I remember being at an Ayurvedic center for medicine and hearing: "Relax and Breath," as though it was the first time I'd ever heard it. So I started to relax and I started to breathe. I also spent time enjoying organic south Indian cuisine, reading, meditating, and practicing yoga. On that trip, in a town called Kerala, I began to discover the beauty and depth of yoga - and ever since then I've practiced daily, on and off the mat and across the world. I've been hooked by the intention, purpose, and creativity that yoga inspires. I've watched it evolve from a self-focused, physical practice into a communal, spiritual path that ultimately led to teaching. Yoga energizes, heals, focuses, and unites the mind, body, and spirit. For me it has been a profound gift, one that I can't help but share with others.
