Here are some comments from a few graduates of Black Swan Training:

Participating in the black swan yoga training was one of the best decisions i have ever made! Not only did i gain vital knowledge about teaching yoga, but i also gained a sense of positivity regarding spirituality that was missing in my life. The training opened my eyes to what yoga is truly about, and I am forever grateful to the BSY instructors for sharing their knowledge with me! <3 ~Rey

I really enjoyed the training and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in deepening their yoga practice even without necessarily wanting to become a teacher. I learned so much about the asanas and the concept of teaching and made so many amazing friends that I am so grateful for! ~Andreanna

When you intensify your yoga practice you choose to live with more intensity. Yoga is domineering that way--it reaches into your whole world. When I joined Black Swan's yoga intensive all I wanted was to be more physically fit. I got a lot more than that. Every aspect of my life has been enriched. Sure, I can now wow friends with my yoga moves. But even better--I look forward to waking up in the morning. I practice on my own and bring the lessons I learned at BSY into every facet of my day, giving me more intensity, integrity, and happiness. Every penny spent on training has been returned with interest in my quality of life. I joined Black Swan's yoga intensive because I wanted to be trained in living a balanced life. ~Mathew

I loved, loved, loved this training. I learned tools, concepts, knowledge, and history. I gained invaluable friendships and relationships. I strengthened my mind and body. This was way more than training for my own practice or for sharing yoga with others. I learned how to be my own best teacher...which will allow me to better serve others with whom I share this life. I knew Black Swan Yoga was special the minute I walked through the doors 1 1/2 years ago. Little did I know how special it really was and IS. I feel it and love all of you very much. Thank you all for representing, sharing, mentoring, loving, teaching, and spreading the goodness. ~Angie

Training was an amazing experience for me!! I have never been surrounded by so many loving and creative people or at least had never opened myself up so much to see how many AMAZING people there are around me. It really did become more than just learning how to teach yoga. It is an emotional and awakening experience and it only keeps going. I really enjoyed the mixture of teachers and the way the weeks were planned out. Everyone had so much to give and each teacher really connects and opens up with all of us ~Chelsey

Lilyana

Born and raised in Dallas, my love for movement began as a small child with dance classes. My passion for dance eventually led me to yoga in 2000, and I found the light and moved to Austin in 2004. Although I still love to dance in all ways, I found the qualities of dance through the interplay of movement and the breath in my yoga practice. I began teaching in 2005 to share this gift with people from all walks of life. I love to work with beginners, advanced practitioners and everyone in between. My teaching style allows students of all levels to leave class feeling fulfilled, revitalized and happy. I am also part of the Black Swan Training program. It is my ultimate goal to learn from and serve my students both on and off the mat.

Hilly

I am originally from New Mexico, and have been calling Austin home since 2009. I see yoga in all stages and movements of life; it is the dance of nature and a reflection of our humanity.

For me yoga is a life-practice to be enjoyed and humbled by on and off the mat. I would love to share my knowledge, schedule, recipes and experience of ahimsa and the other eight limbs of yoga with you through www.nadiyoga.com

Yoga is a path of finding unity with all beings, self-realization, enlightenment, and a vigorous physical discipline wrapped into one practice.

My yoga is constantly evolving and I believe that if you are moving with intention, quieting your mind and breathing that you are doing yoga beautifully.

I have been teaching since 2006 and am so grateful to be given the opportunity to do what I love every day. From teaching daily class to running introductory and advanced trainings and workshops, I am in awe of this wonderful life and all the learning opportunities it provides. I wish you peace on your path and look forward to seeing you soon.

Leeah

I was first drawn to yoga in 2004 when I was earning my BFA in Dance Performance at SMU in Dallas. Initially practicing for the physical benefits, I quickly realized yoga has far more to offer and goes much deeper than the physicality. After graduating and moving to Chicago to pursue a career in dance, I grew tired of the constant judgement and negativity. I knew in my heart that I was meant to do more, for myself and for others. It was then that I came back to Dallas and received my certification with American Power Yoga in 2008. I returned to Chicago and began teaching as much as possible. In the spring of 2010 I found my way back to Texas and quickly made Black Swan Yoga my new home. It is my intention to share the knowledge I have and learn from my students. By utilizing this positive exchange of energy, I hope to increase awareness and ignite the joy and light within each of us.
