FAQ's

Where do I fly into?

We will provide a group shuttle from San Jose (SJO). Please plan to arrive before 2:00pm. The shuttle to Indigo Yoga Resort takes about 4 hours.

If you prefer to skip the shuttle, you can take a domestic flight from Liberia or San José airport to Cabano airport, followed by a 45-minute cab ride to the resort. Please note: cab fare is not included in tuition.

Are my meals included, and what do I need to pack?

We’ll enjoy a welcome dinner together at the resort on the first evening and a farewell breakfast on the final morning. On full training days, breakfast and lunch will be provided by the resort’s chefs. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance.

What should I pack?

  • Yoga mat + mat towel (The resort has mats if you prefer not to bring your own)
  • Training manual (pick up before training if you’re in Austin, Dallas, or Arizona)
  • Required reading + extra notebook
  • Plenty of yoga clothes + breezy clothes for afternoons
  • Bug spray, sunscreen, raincoat
  • Hiking/tennis shoes, bathing suits, water bottle
  • Some cash for tips, taxis & shopping (Places will take US $ but you can easily get Colones from an ATM or your bank at home)

What’s around the area?

Indigo Yoga Resort is located in Mal País, Costa Rica, just a 5 minute walk to the ocean and a short cab ride to Santa Teresa, a vibrant town with restaurants, beaches, and lots of local charm. Within walking distance you’ll find small markets and eateries, and each room includes a kitchen (stove, fridge, cookware) for light cooking if you’d like. There is a laundry service within walking distance of the resort.

How much free time will I have?

The training schedule runs from 7:30am–6:30pm most days. While the days are intensive, there are:

If you’d like more time to experience Costa Rica, we recommend arriving early or staying after the training.

Note: The airport shuttle is only provided on the official arrival and departure dates.

What are the rooms like?

Depending on your package, you can book a single, double, or triple room. Each room includes:

  • 1 indoor/outdoor bathroom
  • A full kitchen
  • Air conditioning

Bring a friend to share a room, or we’ll happily pair you with a roommate.

What does a typical day look like?

  • 7:30am–6:30pm training days
  • Short break for breakfast + 1 hour lunch break

Morning sessions: asana, anatomy, alignment

**Afternoon sessions: **yoga philosophy, history, energetics, spiritual practices

Evening sessions: restorative practices such as yin, breathwork, yoga nidra, and meditation

Will I be able to teach yoga at the end of the course?

Yes! Upon graduation, you will be a 200-hour certified yoga teacher through Black Swan Yoga and recognized by Yoga Alliance. This certification allows you to teach anywhere in the world.

Remember, teaching yoga always begins with being a lifelong student. During training we’ll also cover the business of yoga, so you’ll leave not only certified, but also confident about taking your next steps.
